WASZP NORTH AMERICA ANNOUNCES WINTER PARTNERSHIP WITH US SAILING CENTER OF JENSEN BEACH
The WASZP Class of North America is excited to announce a new partnership with the US Sailing Center of Jensen Beach as our official winter training base for the WASZP foiling dinghy. This collaboration provides sailors with a high-quality, affordable venue to sail, train, and compete during the winter months while connecting with a strong community of foiling enthusiasts.
Special Winter Membership
Through this partnership, WASZP sailors will have access to a discounted WASZP Class winter membership rate for boat storage and sailing privileges at Jensen Beach during January and February 2026.
Participation requires:
Current WASZP Class membership
This ensures that every sailor is fully supported and part of the broader foiling community.
We would like to extend special thanks to Adam Gee, Executive Director of the US Sailing Center of Jensen Beach, whose vision and leadership have made this partnership possible. His commitment to welcoming foiling and bringing the best sailors in North America to the venue this winter will set a new standard for winter training opportunities.
Regattas and Clinics
The US Sailing Center of Jensen Beach will host the WASZP Midwinters Regatta from January 17–19, offering an early-season opportunity to line up against top sailors from across North America. To complement the regatta, the Class will also run a series of weekend clinics designed to sharpen skills and grow the fleet:
January 3
February 7
February 21
February 28
These sessions will feature world-class coaching and development opportunities, ensuring every sailor leaves with more speed, better boat handling, and a stronger tactical foundation.
Elite Coaching & Support
This winter program will be strengthened by several key partnerships:
WeCANFoil will have their trailer on site all season, with Coach Agustin Ferrario leading high-level training and development.
Vakaros will continue its partnership with the WASZP Class, ensuring sailors benefit from cutting-edge digital racing and training tools.
Rick Wood, a local expert, will provide on-site support, a dedicated RIB for coaching and safety, and charter boats available through both WeCANFoil and his program to help sailors who want to fly in for weekends.
Expanding Access Through WeCANFoil
Beyond high-performance training, WeCANFoil is committed to making foiling more accessible. Their mission is to provide sailors of all ages and skill levels with a clear and sustainable pathway into the sport. In Jensen Beach, that means not only preparing top athletes for international regattas but also offering “Learn to Foil” clinics and development opportunities for local Florida sailors.
Between regatta and training weekends, WeCANFoil will work with the community to bring new sailors onto the water, grow participation, and inspire the next generation of foilers.
Proven Pathway to Performance
The results from spring and summer 2025 were clear: sailors who trained and developed with the North American WASZP Class went on to deliver strong performances at the WASZP Games in Weymouth. By bringing the community together again in Jensen Beach this January and February, athletes will continue building on that momentum—sharpening their skills and preparing to perform at the highest level during the WASZP Games in Pensacola in March 2026.
Youth & Collegiate Pathway
The venue will also proudly host the Region 2 High School and College National Championship Qualifier from January 31 – February 1, giving the next generation of foiling sailors the chance to compete at a high level and connect with the broader WASZP community.
Why Jensen Beach?
With warm weather, reliable breeze, and excellent facilities, Jensen Beach offers some of the best conditions on the East Coast for high-performance foiling. The Class will also support boat relocation from Jensen Beach to Pensacola in early March, making it easy for sailors to continue their competitive season.
A True Winter Base for the WASZP Community
This partnership reflects the WASZP Class commitment to building a sustainable, year-round pathway for foiling sailors of all levels. With discounted membership rates, world-class coaching, a full calendar of racing and clinics, and strong partnerships across the sport, Jensen Beach will serve as the hub for WASZP foiling this winter.
We look forward to welcoming sailors, families, and supporters to Florida this season—come join the WASZP swarm!

About KA Sail (Manufacturer)
The WASZP was designed by Andrew “Amac” McDougall, a pioneering Australian sailor and naval architect with decades of experience in high-performance foiling. As the founder of KA Sail, McDougall has been a leading innovator in the foiling revolution, previously known for his performance Moth sails and rigs before launching the WASZP project. Frustrated by the high cost and complexity of foiling boats at the time, McDougall set out to design a single-handed, one-design foiler that would be fun, accessible, and built to last. The WASZP launched in 2016 to global acclaim, winning the Sailing World Boat of the Year and quickly establishing itself as the world’s leading entry-level foiling platform. With a growing international class, professional manufacturing, and strict one-design controls, KA Sail continues to manage and support WASZP production and global distribution from its headquarters in Melbourne, Australia.
