(NEW) Rear Side Bung Hole Instructions
Share
To effectively drain the WASZP with the new rudder, the WASZP Class has approved a new location for a bung that has the same drainage orientation as the front one.
The resulting plan has been implemented across hundreds of boats already and has proven very effective.

Installation Procedure:
1. Drill 5mm or 3/16" hole - ensure perpendicular to surface.
2. Tap the hole using a 1/4" UNC (or BSW) tap, again making (doubly) sure the tap is perpendicular to the surface.
The old bung can be left as is or filled with glue.

Note 1: A 'starting' tap (has a tapered end) is best.
Note 2: Rather than buying a tap holder, you can use a cordless drill set slow
and minimum torque to drive the tap.
Note 3: The maximum size allowed for the bung is 5/16" for safety reasons.
Note 4: If you are not confident to do this, best to do it with your coach or agent.
