Hull Nose Replacement

Hull Nose Replacement Instructions

Step 1:  In the replacement nose drill two 5mm holes. Then countersink to a depth of 9mm (with a 9mm drill) to accept the head of the screws that will be used to secure the nose. Position the nose correctly on the boat and pre-drill a 3.5mm hole into the fiberglass of the boat for each of the screws. We suggest that you trial fit the nose by popping the screws in before apply any glue.

Step 2:  You need to sand the inside bonding surface of the hull nose and the bow of the boat with 60/80 grit paper, to give the glue something rough to adhere to properly.

Step 3:  Tape around the edges of the hull and the hull nose piece. Use a sharp blade to cut the tape to exact profile of both the nose and the boat.  This will protect the boat and aid in clean up of the Sikaflex.

Step 4:  Use Sikaflex- 291 Marine Adhesive Sealant - White to cover the bow of the WASZP Hull.

Step 5:  Screw the nose to the glued surface.

Step 6:  Use a scraping tool such as an old credit card to remove as much excess Sika as possible.

Step 7:  Carefully remove the tape. Wait until it dries to clean excess Sikaflex.

Step 8:  Mask up and cut around the two screw holes. Fill with Black Sikaflex and smooth over. Once dry remove tape.
